API to query info about units tariff band now and get upcoming band change times

I'd like to have some kind of ultra-ultra-lightweight API that allows a client to query (i) which units-charging tariff band we are in at the current time together with the current download charging rate, and (ii) the times (unix time) of...

Make the blip graph more usable by people with red/green colour blindness

The blip graph at https://control.aa.net.uk/blip.cgi tells me that "Green is login" and "Red is logout". Like ~10% of the male population I'm red/green colour blind. If I stare at the graph closely, I can just about detect that the grass...

Customer adds note in log in clueless

If customers could add a comment record in the clueless log for a particular line, then that could be a reminder of the time a particular action was taken or an explanation which could benefit AA tech support. Example: "modem taken offline -...

Filter / rate limiting on line down / up events in clueless

Something went nutty a while ago and I got something like 50 emails containing down / up notifications back-to-back. Perhaps some filter with configurable parameters and sensible defaults to protect you. Sending hundreds of tweets / SMS / emails...

We do rate limit SMSs, and maybe Texts too, emails may not be rate limited on purpose though. That said, we are building a new notification system which should have more features, some info here: http://www.revk.uk/2017/03/keeping-customer-informed.html

Proof-read documentation before issue.

Have documentation, specifically the FB2900 User Manual, checked by someone with a good grasp of English, not just technical know-how. Poor spelling/typos in documentation creates the impression of poor quality in the device.

Have AA web servers, including clueless, support HTTP/2

HTTP/2 gives us better responsiveness. Do your web servers speak HTTP/2?

Add dates to VOIP profiles

Aswell as offering days/time profile options, add the ability to enter a date range - this would be useful during holidays

Allow people ordering BE lines to choose PPPoE or PPPoA

Unlike BT lines, where the end user can choose whether to do PPPoE or PPPoA on the line, BE lines can only do one or the other and currently all lines are ordered for PPPoA unless you know to ask for the order to be provided as PPPoE. Doubtless...

Easier email alias management

It's painful to make changes to several aliases. Just being able to edit the whole lot in a multi-line text field would make a huge difference.

have an email to SMS gateway provided by A&A

A&A should provide an easy email to SMS gateway. Yes I know I could build one with a small script.

change the targets for a VOIP number depending on the active profile

Instead of just having a single profile that specifies when a set of targets are active and a backup number for when the profile isn't active I would like to be able to set a different set of targets for two (or more) profiles. For example, I...

Announce planned engineering work clearly

There have been a lot of occasions in the past year where there has been "Planned" engineering work by AAISP that has either been unannounced or not announced obviously (i.e. in the status news section, or tagged on the end of an outage section)....

One or more dns entries pingable.aa.net.uk

or similar meaningful name as a first-hop within AA-land target for pinging, perhaps a cname to bottomless. Anyway, way you can change its target when you need to. As well, two additional cnames, ipv4.pingable and ipv6.pingable, say, to the same...

Set the "enable bitswap" option in the config for DLink DSL-320B-Z1 modems

Surely it's a really really bad thing this not being ticked? Am I wrong? (And might as well set the SRA option too just in case your service does support it.)

allow downloading of email aliases from control.net.aa.uk as a text file

Distribute improved firmware for ZyXel VMG 1312-B10A which fixes the lack of support for MTU 1508 in modem-only

Firmware is now available for the ZyXel VMG 1312-B10A which fixes the lack of support for MTU 1508 in modem-only. It just works, fine. A pre-built bin file is available and the complete sources are I'm told on github and I have read the build...

Unmetered off peak

Greater control of L2TP logins

Dealer cap options are great, but would be nice to have a few extra options; cap at 10M, 20M, 50M, 100M respectively. Only reason I suggest this, is because I have come across some awkward devices that will not let you change/set line speeds...

Have more ICMP ECHO targets 81.187.81.188, .189, .190 (etc)

For multi-WAN operation with failover, some firewall software (notably pfSense 2.0.1) needs to be able to ping a different IPs for each WAN link. This is particularly true where each upstream WAN link has the same next-hop IP (81.187.81.187)....
