A&A internet in Republic of Ireland

I'd like to know if A&A would be willing to set up connections in the Republic of Ireland on the same terms and with the same level of customer service and privacy as in the UK.

Direct Debit notification downloDad from accounts site

Currently on accounts.aa.net.uk you can download sales invoices as PDFs, but not the Direct Debit notification. This would seem helpful as very occasionally the emails go missing.

voip also-ring,

I've been trying the also-ring to drop calls to the mobile when no answered at home. This shows on the phone with the originators CLI, exactly as if they had rung the mobile directly. It would be nice if there was a way to determine that the call...

Changing the CLI would be possible, but it would mean that the contact name wouldn't be shown from your address book, would that be a problem?

Add more than one authenticator for 2FA

I have more than one phone (no I'm not a drug dealer or a terrorist) and whenever possible I register the 2FA seed in an authenticator app on each phone. Some sites make this easy, for example Amazon allows you to register multiple authenticators...

DSLstats and MyDSLWebStats as a diagnostics tool

AAISP could use DSLstats and MyDSLWebStats to view the DSL stats history of a customers router. This could compliment the information provided by the CQM graphs. It could also detect oddities not visible on the CQM graphs. For example - Fault on...

Add an extra password for use when talking to aa staff and placing orders by email / irc / chat etc

An extra, relatively weak password, so it's possibly easy for the user to quote, rather than a replacement for the strong ones. Needs to be with a Boolean flag to enable /disable, or just ignore zero-length passwords, to tell aa staff whether or...

Mac menu bar app for monitoring usage

I'd like a macOS menu bar application that would show me my remaining quota, other stats like the line rate, and useful graphs showing the usage vs the remaining time in the current usage period, for example. (I hope this isn't outrageous, but if...

allow costumers to add notes in clueless re line-related actions for benefit of support

If a customer does something relating to a line - especially something bad, or weird - something might later on have effects that would confuse support staff, then a customer-added note could be valueable. Also it might be valuable for the...

Clueless: add task without adding pin

I might just want to add a note, not mark something on the graph. Also, adding pins to the graph only works from certain pages. Could you just have an "Add a note" link at the top of the task list?

Web hosting service for customers with (at least) php and MySql

Sure, you can host a basic website, but I'd like to use Wordpress or Joomla as I can't be arsed fannying around with my HTML just to update my info.
Response from the site administrator
aaisp, 30.07.2015
Interested to hear what others have to say. We know our web hosting is basic, that is in purpose as it gives us the benefit of being extremely low maintenance, secure, and cheap for customers.

Automatic packet capture before Blacklisting

I had a line which had frequent but short-lived Blacklistings. As a result of the behaviour it hasn't been possible to get a packet capture to see just what's going on with the line; it may not be an "attack" and could be a wayward service. If...

https for www-server.co.uk with automatically-generated letsencrypt certificates

I would like AAISP to follow in the footsteps of Mythic-Beasts, and support HTTPS on the www-server.co.uk machine. This can simply autogenerate certificates via LetsEncrypt and rely upon TLS-SNI to use a single IP address to host all the sites....

improve the "New device/IP used with [Voip number]" emails

Possible improvement to the "New device/IP used with [phone number]" emails: at the moment, they just list an IP address. When my mobile phone is registered for VoIP, it gets several IP addresses daily from my mobile provider, and/or from wifi...

Add DNSCurve support to AA DNS

DNSCurve is fairly simple to implement, so it should not be too hard to add support for this for both customer domains and the DNS servers AA customers query generally. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNSCurve

I see you are switching to a newer router from Zyxel, how about offering one with 2 WAN ports?

I just saw that you are changing the Zyxel router you supply, would it be possible to offer a dual WAN one. I'm sure the Firebrick is an outstanding product, but it is also £900 and much of what it does I need to do on a Linux gateway for work...

Emulate Quad 9 through AAISP

With the recent launch of Quad 9 as a more secure DNS service which actively blocks dangerous sites (see http://www.computerweekly.com/news/450430188/Free-Quad9-internet-threat-protection-launched), perhaps it may be possible for your DNS servers...
