automatically charge for extra units

i won't be able to predict when i need 100gb overnight or 500gb, or 2gb daytime v.s. 50gb. Can't you just charge me for the units i used instead of asking me to predict them up front? i know you're quite considerate when people exceed usage from time to time but THIS is what usage-based billing should be - for those customers who want it!

We do this on the Home::1 tariff http://aa.net.uk/broadband-home1.html
Idea status: under consideration

Sure, just go on the basic 2 unit plan, and anything you go over 2 units will be charged to you. It'll be much more expensive for you that way, but that's the price you pay for not helping with A&A's capacity planning.

By choosing more or less the correct number of units, and paying for those up front, A&A are much more able to plan ahead with their network and interconnects, thus making it better for all of us.

I'm not staff BTW, just a happy customer.

i'm happy to pay the unit rate! if it works for telecom (where i'm billed retrospectively for the minutes i use) why not per GB too?

and given that i can change tariff with 1 month notice it's kind of arbitrary anyway so i'm not sure how it helps with the long term planning...
