Mirror popular Linux repositories

In a similar vein to running a WSUS server, running mirrors of popular Linux distros (e.g. Ubuntu, Fedora) would cut down incoming traffic.

We have a project under way to move our main web server on to new hardware (multi front-end servers using shared storage) in a different datacentre - once this work has been done we'll look in to whether being a mirror is feasible.

The project is now over eight months old. How's it progressing?

We're starting by mirroring CentOS, and if successful, we'll then look at mirroring Ubuntu (These are the main distos that we use).
Updates to follow within a few days.

I've tried using this but get errors like this:

32% [3 Translation-en_GB bzip2 0B] [Connecting to ubuntu.aa.net.uk (2001:8b0:0:30::51bb:1e51)]bzip2: (stdin) is not a bzip2 file.

After a manual look in the mirror myself, it seems that there no translation files.
Do you intend to add these in the future?
