Should Updates (unofficial bot) return HTML & MIME information from links pasted in the main channel?

Updates, the unofficial bot that polls RSS/Atom feeds to the Status pages, RevK's blog & this ideas factory & /notice's it to #A&A can also automatically go to a link posted in a channel and feedback what it finds.

As much to some of your amusement, your attempts to get it to download large files and goto ftp:// etc. didn't quite work. It simply polls http sites for index.* and returns header/title information and can return file sizes for binary files (whatever MIME reports). This can help you better decide if material is SFW or not. It is also flood protected to a degree, so it wont spam replies back to too many simultaneous requests.

If you would like this service vote for yes. If not, ignore it or vote no.

Thanks!

I simply can't inmigae why a hosting company would do this intentionally! I take it that you are aware that the DNS info is held by the company you registered your domain with DNS in its simplest explanation tells your domain registrar where to find your hosting company.Could you clarify that you bought your domain name AND hosting from the same company? If you are unable to login to your Control Panel that is an issue unto itself and would explain why you can't do anything! That's the issue you should address! Is it a lost password problem?Sounds like you are with a crappy hosting company either way but I would focus on accessing your Control Panel first everything else can be fixed once you've done that. And yes threaten them with legal action if they do not help you access your CP!
