Do not close MSO status entries so soon

I noticed that all my lines changed LNS early this morning due to http://status.aaisp.net.uk/apost.cgi?incident=912 but looked on the status pages and didn't see anything as this incident was closed. Whilst I appreciate it was closed as the...

have a page on clueless that shows the current traffic graph and usage for all logins and lines on an account

It's a bit tedious clicking through each login one by one to check the line graph(s) and usage for each login under our account. If there was a single page that showed the current 24 hour line graph for all lines under all logins and a table...
Response from the site administrator
aaisp, 09.05.2013
If you have a 'manager' login, then you can do a blank search to view all lines with their graphs.

Separate line passwords

VoIP accounts have separate access passwords from the clueless login. It would be useful if the password for DSL/L2TP line logins could also be configured separately so that the clueless login password does not need to be available as plaintext...

Use Clueless to manage Reverse DNS

I would like to be able to use Clueless to manage reverse DNS entries for my IP addresses
Response from the site administrator
aaisp, 23.11.2010
There are a couple of ways customers can manage reverse DNS:

1) If the reverse is to be on a domain that we already run DNS for, then you can add A+Reverse entries, which will automatically add the reverse record.

2) If we don't run DNS for the domain that you want to use, then we can add that domain to the control pages and you can then add 'Reverse' records.

3) We can manually add the relevant in-addr.arpa zone to your control page, and you can add records.

4) We can delegate to your own nameservers - this is set up under the Login part of the control pages.

However, are you suggesting something simple, such as a page which lists your IP addresses, and a box to type in the reverse entry?

Allow multiple IP address to be "IP lockdown"ed to in the VoIP Outbound Security settings

At home, I have two ISPs (one being VirginMedia just in case BT's exchange "goes down") and therefore have two IP addresses. I also have VoIP on my mobile phone which connects when I'm in the remote office (third IP address). However, the "IP...

Compare usage of IPv4 versus IPv6.

I would like to be able to compare my usage of IPv4 versus IPv6 traffic on my line. It would be good to be able to spit it down by protocol, so it is possible to see what is still using IPv4. It would also be interesting to be able to easily...
Response from the site administrator

This can now be seen as part of the per IP stats, viewable from the control pages.

Confirm line changes on clueless

At present it is all too easy to accidentally order changes to a line or run tests, especially when browsing clueless from a mobile phone. A pop up confirmation dialog when clicking any line change or test buttons will prevent accidents like this...

Have an "on call" AA staff tech available on telephone for when BT are onsite before 9, or after 5

This could be a "only for today/this morning/this evening" number that is only provided to someone that has a site visit booked, and to prevent "abuse" changed on a daily/twice daily basis using the huge range of numbers that AA have available.
Response from the site administrator
aaisp, 21.04.2015
Since April 2015, support hours are now 8-6, which matches most Openreach engineer slots. Do call/irc and we'll be there!

Add IP adddress restrictions as an option for VoIP accounts

Recently A&A have had problems with VoIP hacking. To make it harder, let users configure IP ranges for access to their VoIP accounts, with an easy option for "all my A&A IPs".
Response from the site administrator
aaisp, 21.10.2010
We now have a feature to restrict to a single IP now. For a SIP phone or a phone server that would be fine. We are not planning to extend this to ranges or lists of IPs as it is a per-number setting.

Get rid of pre-pay/post-pay tariffs

Response from the site administrator
aaisp, 21.04.2015
We have a new tariff - home::1, which is not unit based, but you pay for usage in advanced, http://aa.net.uk/broadband-home1.html - not quite what you're describing here though, but still may be of interest. We also have the Office::1 package.

Keep all status/service data on aa.net.uk

Our status page is now (officially) https://aastatus.net - this is a separate domain, uses separate DNS servers, in a separate country on purpose... However, posting updated and reports to facebook etc is not really on, I do apologise. We'll not do that again.

SIP/TCP support on AASIP

I would like SIP/TCP support to be available on AASIP. The RFC requires both UDP and TCP support, and it would probably have saved a lot of pain this week with non-delivery of fragmented UDP packets stopping me making outgoing calls.
Response from the site administrator
aaisp, 10.05.2013
Sorry for delay, we're currently developing a new SIP platform based on FireBrick.
Currently TCP is not supported. However, we are compatible with RFC compliant devices; in that devices should fall back to UDP if TCP is unavailable.
It may well be that we do support TCP SIP on the FireBrick.

Ask BE to allow lines to be switched between PPPoE and PPPoA service

Currently switching a BE line from PPPoE to PPPoA or vice versa requires a cease and reprovide. This has both cost and minimum contract term implications. It would better if this could be done more easily.
Response from the site administrator
aaisp, 25.09.2012
This is now possible, email in and we can migrate a BE PPPoA to PPPoE, no charge and still 1 month terms.

Have all services work with ipv6

Some of the features don't' yet work with ipv6, for example the DNS resolver check appears to be ipv4 only, as the countries number 1 ISP for ipv6 do you you think you should fully support it?
Response from the site administrator
aaisp, 03.04.2014
The DNS resolver checker is IP4 only as we don't have enough time to check each customers IPv6 block as there are millions of addresses... Sorry.

Have a test SMS button on clueless

Response from the site administrator

We have re-written the notifications, it's more reliable, and logs more. It will back-off sending messages in the event of potentially a flood going out (ie, in the case of a flapping line). This should be OK now.
